Eligibility Criteria for Melbourne Graduate Research Scholarships 2025:
- Be a domestic or international student
- Be applying to or have applied to a graduate research degree program at the University of Melbourne
- Meet the University’s English language requirements
- Not hold a research qualification deemed equivalent to an Australian Research Doctorate
- Not currently be enrolled in a research degree at the University of Melbourne or any other institution
- Not have already been awarded a scholarship for the proposed research program

How to Apply for Melbourne Graduate Research Scholarships 2025?
- Research Eligibility: Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria for the Melbourne Graduate Research Scholarships (MGRS).
- Choose a Research Program: Select the graduate research program you wish to pursue at the University of Melbourne.
- Prepare Application Documents: Gather all required documents, including academic transcripts, CV, research proposal, English language proficiency test scores (if applicable), and letters of recommendation.
- Apply for Graduate Research Course: If you’re a new student, apply for a graduate research course by the application closing date. By doing so, you’ll automatically be considered for the MGRS. Expect notification of your scholarship application within ten business days of submitting your course application.
- Submit Scholarship Application (if applicable):
- If you’ve deferred commencement of your graduate research course to be reconsidered for a scholarship, submit an online application form by October 31 for consideration the following year. You’ll receive notification of the added scholarship application within ten business days of submission.
- If you’re currently enrolled in a graduate research course and seeking a scholarship for the following year, submit an online application form by October 31. Expect notification of the added scholarship application within ten business days of submission.
- Wait for Notification: After submitting your application(s), await notification of the outcome. If shortlisted, you may be invited for an interview or asked for further documentation.
