The Nigerian Ministry of Education has announced a full-tuition fee scholarship to all interested Nigerians. This is to consolidate on the bilateral trade pact between the two countries. This would strengthen the bond between the two countries as they look forward to aiding the African citizen.

With some expenses looking forward to be waived off if referred by the Nigerian embassy in the country, the ministry has impugned her citizens to follow full course. According to the statement released via X on Thursday, the statement reads in part,

“The Government of Hong Kong is calling on qualified and interested Nigerians to apply for Full-Tuition Scholarships to study a four-year Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Early Childhood Education (ECE) Programme in the 2024-2025 academic year.”

The ministry added that apart from the full-tuition scholarships, private school students in Nigeria can apply for studies in Hong Kong with the following requirements;

“The living costs for a student in Hong Kong including food, transportation and leisure may be in the range of HK$30,000 -HK$50,000 per year.

“Affordable hostel accommodation for international students might be in the range of HK$6,000(USD 770) per month.

“The college has informed that application fees would be waived for applicants who go through the Consular General of Nigeria in Hong Kong as a referral.”

Those expected to apply are, “(i) Holder of IB Diploma or GCE A- Level/iAl with Grade E in 2 @ subjects (for BEdECE) or 1 subject (for HDECE); and Grade E in English Language at A/AS-Level or Grade C in GCE-O-LEVEL/GCSE/IGCSE.”
