Brief History of the University of Strathclyde

Founded in 1796, this institution is a research center in the UK. It’s located in Glascow, Scotland. For over the years, this institution has remained a household name based on its records. Having received the Royal Charter in 1964, the college became widely recognized as the first technological university in the UK.

However, it remains the second oldest university in Glascow. The historic university was formerly called the Andersonian Institute before the name was changed to Anderson University in 1828.

The scholarship represents up to £6,000 for your pathway programme and up to £6,000 for every year of degree study at the University of Strathclyde.

Depending on the pathway and the type of degree study, you can expect:

International Study Centre scholarship eligibility

You can benefit from our scholarship if you’re a self-funded student. Please note the following:

  • Scholarships are valid for 2024/25 academic year programmes at the International Study Centre.
  • If students are offered with a scholarship for the International Study Centre programme, students need to confirm or conditionally confirm their place within two weeks.
  • Scholarships are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The maximum amount will not always be available, and students are not eligible for multiple scholarships.
  • If you're applying directly via our website, please ensure you select the following option "Self or family funded and seeking a partial scholarship from you".

Scholarships upon progression to the University of Strathclyde

University scholarships are available at all four faculties at the University of Strathclyde. Once you progress from the International Study Centre, the University of Strathclyde will award scholarships for each academic year upon achieving 60%.

You do not need to apply separately for the scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded automatically upon achieving the academic progression requirement.
